Wedding Details: The Rings

We have chosen rings for both of us. I'll start with Jay's ring. It is stainless steel with a hammered effect and black around the edges. We both really love this ring. It's hard to really see it in this picture, but I'll post it anyway.

Now on to my ring. My engagement ring belonged to Jay's great-grandmother. It had a band that went with it, but the band was stolen. We looked at some jewelry stores for a band, but my ring sticks out in the middle so a regular band will not sit flush with it. We decided to visit a jeweler to discuss a custom made band. We visited with him a few times to discuss different design options. I had a few rings that belonged to my parents that we could use the stones from to make my ring. Jay and I decided to get two bands made to make my ring more symmetrical. I also wanted the bands to be yellow gold, while the engagement ring is white gold.. Some of the stones came from my dad's wedding ring and some came from a ring that my dad gave to my mother years ago. It was very hard to really picture how my ring would look when finished. When we picked it up, we were so surprised. It is so beautiful! I didn't want to take it off.

I cannot wait until September 24 when Jay and I will put these rings on and can wear them forever.
