Wow it has been way too long since I posted a blog. Things have been a bit crazy. Lots of things have come up and lots of things have changed.
First, back in April, Jay's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a partial mastectomy on the right side, which we hoped would be the end of it. Unfortunately that was not the case, and she has had to undergo chemotherapy. She will receive her last chemo treatment on September 10 and then go the next 2 Fridays for blood work. She'll start radiation right after that for six weeks. Then in May, I think, she will have reconstructive surgery. It has been a rough time for everyone, but we know God is in control and everything will be fine. God had given her lots of people to bless through this time and many of them have been a blessing to her as well. It has been amazing to witness her strength and faith in God shine through this whole ordeal. Please keep her in your prayers as she finishes up her treatments.
Second, I started a new job back in June. It's been kind of difficult for Jay and I because the entire time we have been together up until June, we worked right across the hall from each other. Now we don't even work in the same town as each other. My job is an hour away from his, so I have been staying at my sister's during the week. Jay and I see each other mainly on the weekends. It's tough going from seeing each other every day to only 1 or 2 days a week. But I move into our apartment (yay!) on Sept 10 which is in between my work and his, so he can come see me after work. Then we get married 2 weeks later, so we'll be together everyday.
Our wedding is 24 days away! I'm so excited! Jay and I are both ready to just be married. We're tired of talking about the wedding and just want it to happen all ready! But there is still lots to get done between now and then. I plan on posting an update everyday as kind of a countdown for the next 24 days. Starting tomorrow with a blog about The Dress...without revealing too much about it.
See you tomorrow!
