It's been a while again...
First, let me just say that we had a wonderful Christmas. We went to ICE! at the Gaylord. This year they sculpted scenes from A Charlie Brown Christmas which is one of my favorite Christmas movies. They did a really great job. I loved it! We also spent a lot of time with family, which was very nice. And we received some much needed items off of our gift registry, so yay!
So, now on to the Wedding Details. First up, tuxedo rentals. Yesterday we went to Al's Formal Wear. We went there because at a bridal show last August I spun their wheel and it landed on their biggest discount. We chose a Chocolate brown tuxedo, with an ivory colored dress shirt, and a green vest and tie for Jay, the groomsmen, my nephews (junior groomsmen?), and the parents/grandparent. For our ushers, we picked the Latte suit with an ivory dress shirt and a green tie.
Next detail: ring shopping. We also went ring shopping yesterday for Jay's wedding band. We had looked a little online before going to a store just to get an idea of what he was looking for and he liked Tungsten. The first jewelry store we went in had a few Tungsten rings, including the style he liked online. After trying it on, he didn't like how it looked. He realized that the Tungsten rings were a lot darker than he wanted. He also tried on a couple of Cobalt rings. He ended up really liking one of those. So at the next jewelry store we visited, he tried on some more cobalt rings. He really liked the hammered Cobalt rings. We looked in two other stores, and found a different ring at each one that he liked. The one ring that he is really considering is the one from the third store. It was stainless steel, with the hammered look like the Cobalt, and it had a darker color around the edges. I really liked this ring too. He wants to look at a few more places before we actually buy one, but I think he will probably want the stainless steel one.
Last detail: Save the Dates. I found a design I really liked on Shutterfly.com. It was like a postcard, and had space for six pictures with the wording at the bottom of the card. But then we went to Half Price Books on Saturday. They had a copy of the diybride.com book, so I decided to look through it in the store. I found a really cute Save the Date card that I am going to make. It will be cheaper and more personalized. I'm really excited to get them done and mailed out. I will post a picture of it after they have been mailed.
So that's where we stand with the wedding plans. Next on the list is designing my wedding band and choosing bridesmaid dresses.
